Schizophrenia: Notes From Opq

Schizophrenia is a condition in which perception and belief separate from shared reality — most often hallucinations and fixed false beliefs — alongside a loss of drive, expression and the ability to organise thought.

Also called: Schizophrenia spectrum disorder, Psychosis.

ICD-10 F20 · ICD-11 6A20

Personal reflections, not clinical guidance, and not a substitute for any of it. Just what I keep thinking about while building this.

The last room

Schizophrenia is the deepest colour in the gallery, and it is the last condition. It is also the one most people fear most. That is why the page leads with what it is not.

The ninth contested opening

Too much dopamine. This is the truest of all the contested stories. Its exceptions also matter the most. The people the story does not fit are exactly the people that standard medicine does not help.

A dial, not a switch

The dose device is the only one on the site built on real measured thresholds. I wanted the narrow window to be something you feel. Turn it a few degrees too far and the body pays for it.

The voice note with no name on it

Of all the specimens, the voices one changed how I think about this condition. Nothing gets added from outside. Something that should be there goes missing instead. It is a label saying "mine".
